On Monday in the round of 32 of the WTA Chennai open 2022 Rebecca Peterson of Sweden will face Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva of Andorra.
Rebecca Peterson’s lacklustre season isn’t improving after she’s gone winless in seven of her previous ten competitions. The former world number 43 has competed in five tournaments since switching back to hard courts in July, finishing last in four of them, including Granby and Flushing Meadows. Prior to the pandemic, the Swedish player, who won titles in Nanchang and Tianjin, was playing at a respectable level. However, last year, she reached the semifinals in Nur-Sultan and Cluj-Napoca. She hasn’t advanced past the second round of a tour-level competition this season.
With a victory in the European Junior Championships in Klosters, Switzerland, in July, Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva capped off an enormously successful junior career. At the age of just 14, she won the Australian Open girls’ singles title and the top junior rating back in 2020. The 17-year-old is swiftly rising through the ranks of professionals. She has advanced as high as rank 154 two months ago thanks to semifinal finishes at 125K Montevideo and W100 La Bisbal, as well as two W60 final appearances in Spain and Australia over the past year.
Rebecca Peterson and Jimenez Kasintseva are scheduled to face each other in the round of 32 of the 2022 WTA Chennai Open on Monday, September 12. The tournament is scheduled to begin on September 12 and end on September 18.
The 2022 WTA Chennai Open is scheduled to commence on September 12 and go on until September 18 this year. The tournament will have five rounds of play excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals.
