Maxime Cressy and Ilya Ivashka are scheduled to face each other in the first round of the 2022 ATP Stockholm Open on October 17.
Maxime Cressy’s level appears to have fallen dramatically in recent weeks, suggesting that a lengthy season on the main tour has taken its toll. In addition to dropping his serve relatively easily and losing five of his last six matches, he also retired once in the US Open. Before the 2022 season, the French-American had only ever won seven main-draw matches in tour-level events. However, he has already won almost 25 of them, and he has also played three championship matches at Melbourne (L), Eastbourne (L), and Newport (W).
Ilya Ivashka has competed in five indoor events so far in 2022, reaching the quarterfinals in two of them. He suffered four of his five surface losses to eventual champions Stefanos Tsitsipas in Rotterdam, Felix Auger Aliassime in Marseille, Holger Rune in Sofia, and Andrey Rublev in Gijon. The Belarusian’s career-best season in 2021 was tragically cut short by injury, and 2022 got off to a terrible start. He did, however, post a few quarterfinal (or better) results in Atlanta and Sofia and reached the round of 16 at the US Open, indicating some improvement in his play in the second half.
Maxime Cress and Ilya Ivashka are scheduled to face each other in the first round of the 2022 ATP Stockholm Open on Monday, October 17. The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 17 and end on October 23.
The ATP Stockholm Open will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 17, 2022 and conclude on October 23, 2022.
